"We had heard The Belle Stars play a few times at different events and were always impressed. We decided they would be ideal for our wedding as we had lots of Americans, Canadians and English who had no idea how to ceilidh. Sure enough it worked well - an excellent and patient caller was crucial in making everyone feel welcome on the dance floor and by the end of the evening everyone had bruises from all of the frivolities. I wholeheartedly and thoroughly recommend The Belle Stars. "

"Lively, entertaining, fabulous, outstanding, fantastic" - those were the remarks of all those who had the chance to be present at the performances of the Belle Star Band in the east German village of Wust. The Scottish all-women ceilidh band made dance, clap and swing the students, lecturers, visitors and villagers during the 17th Summerschool for English language, literature, theatre and music in early August. They inspired the audience to demand more and more ceilidhs from the Band - and the Band responded by playing and singing numerous songs from their impressive repertoire. A breath-taking workshop with the students and lecturers followed by an unforgettable concert with the villagers made the Belle Star Band the Star of the 17th Summerschool."
